Toni Black (she/they) is a clinical mental health counseling practicum student with a concentration in expressive art therapy. She offers both in-person and telehealth sessions, using an integrative, trauma-informed approach that incorporates visual art, writing, somatic awareness, and active imagination to support healing and self-discovery.
Toni enjoys working with children and welcomes opportunities to support families. Her areas of focus include children’s mental health, trauma, grief and renewal, relationship dynamics inclusive of varied relationship structures, and identity development. Toni is passionate about creating an affirming, inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ youth and adults, offering compassionate support through creative and relational processes. Rooted in expressive arts, her approach is informed by Jungian theory, somatic psychology, and relational-cultural principles. Toni invites clients to explore their inner world with curiosity, depth, and care—reconnecting with resilience and meaning through embodied expression.
Stephanie is currently a counseling intern working towards her clinical counseling licensure. As a compassionate and culturally sensitive therapist, she has been working and teaching in her community in the bereavement space for many years. She uses an individualistic person-centered approach to create a safe and collaborative space to find wholeness. Stephanie specializes in trauma and grief work, anxiety/depression, and life transitions, offering support to teens, adolescents, and adults. She has a deep commitment to serving diverse communities, including LGBTQ+ individuals, Indigenous populations, neurodivergent individuals, as well as those navigating religious trauma. Having come to this career through her own healing journey, she knows how much courage it takes to engage in this process and hopes to meet you with authenticity, humor, and collaborative goal setting. Stephanie believes strongly in engagement and activism in her community, and also enjoys traveling, live music, traveling to see live music, and all things soccer.
Gwendolyn is licensed social worker providing therapy and community support services. Gwendolyn has experience working with older adults and the LGBTQ+ community. Gwendolyn is interested in working with all ages and utilizes a trauma informed, client centered, strengths based approach when working with clients. Gwendolyn takes a kind, compassionate and nonjudgmental approach working with clients to create self acceptance in their lives.
Aly utilizes a solution focused, strength based, and non-judgmental approach to therapy. She believes in her clients having autonomy and being their own expert for what they want out of life. She helps her clients connect to their purpose and gain a better understanding of themselves to promote a life of healing. She has a history of working with clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, anger management, interpersonal conflicts, and healthy communication skills. She is passionate about working with individuals who struggle with anger management and have a history of incarceration that want to improve their lives. She utilizes DBT, CBT, archetype therapy, IFS, and motivational interviewing interventions to address a variety of issues in therapy.
Mareya is a first-year graduate student intern and is in the Social Work program at New Mexico Highlands University. She is currently working with Wild Magnolia Wellness to help clients build resources, and aid in creating supportive mental health services in Albuquerque. She earned a BA in Psychology from the University of New Mexico and has a significant passion for mental health and the mind. Upon obtaining her Master's of Social Work, she plans to become a licensed clinical therapist.
Mika is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and identity exploration with adolescents and adults. She has extensive experience working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and those in rural or underserved communities, offering telehealth services to ensure accessible care for all clients. Mika uses research-supported approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and narrative therapy, to help clients understand and transform their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. She integrates creative techniques, such as storytelling and imaginative tools, to enhance emotional growth and resilience. With a focus on building a supportive, inclusive environment for individuals or couples, Mika is dedicated to helping clients achieve meaningful change and greater well-being.
Aastha is committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space for individuals to embark on their therapeutic journey. She has experience providing person-centered and trauma-informed therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Aastha also has experience working with individuals with anxiety, parenting-related issues, depression, life transitions, and trauma. She utilizes Somatic Attachment Therapy, Internal Family Systems therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy to support individuals in gaining deeper understanding of themselves and reach their desired therapeutic goal. Aastha's clients thrive in the peaceful therapeutic environment she creates.
Jessica believes in destigmatizing mental health and working from a holistic, eclectic, trauma- informed therapeutic approach. Her work is inspired by the principle that the answer is likely hidden inside of yourself already, it’s just about doing the deep work to find the answers and trusting yourself enough to move forward and attain your goals. Jessica utilizes a person-centered viewpoint while using tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindful-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Jessica specializes in teens, adolescents, young adults, parents, women and couples.
David has a primarily Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Approach to therapy and often works with clients on learning skills to recognize and challenge thought patterns which contribute to depression and anxiety. He has training in teaching Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills and certification in Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories (RTM). David works to educate his clients with his vast knowledge of clinical skills to help them gain a true understanding of their personal psychology.
Carolyn is a licensed professional clinical counselor with over 15 years of using attuned compassion, mind-and-body awareness, and emotional safety to open a supportive therapeutic alliance where people can find themselves more connected, and closer to what they want to do with their authentic selves. She has experience in attachment issues, grief, depression, anxiety, abuse recovery, trauma resilience, and personal growth using strengths- and evidence-based treatment modalities.
Ty is a social work intern with a deep interest in working with children and adolescents. Her primary focus is on fostering a safe, nurturing environment where young people can freely explore and express their emotions. Ty employs a trauma-informed, strength-based approach that is also culturally competent, ensuring that each child’s unique background and experiences are respected and valued. With a firm belief that simply having someone to listen without judgment can make a lasting difference. Ty is committed to empowering youth, helping them build skills to foster resilience, in navigating life's challenges with confidence.
Andrea is a clinical social worker with a background in Psychology. She brings a calming and supportive presence to witness her clients' change process. She is passionate about the brain and understanding our behaviors as they relate to past experiences. Our minds, our bodies, and our spirits crave balance. Andrea looks forward to helping you explore any imbalance you may be feeling. Processing and integration are key to wellness and mental health. Mindfulness, DBT, creativity, narrative, art, sand tray, and EMDR are some of the techniques that she utilizes.
Mikaele is a Social Work intern, currently in her last year of the master’s program at Highlands University. She was born and raised in Northern New Mexico and has a deep passion for working with children, adolescents, and young adults. Mikaele believes in working in a strength-based approach in a safe and comfortable environment, where a client can have their stories and lived experiences listened to without judgment and with unconditional positive regard. Mikaele is currently training in Play Therapy and plans to move forward in the Social work field to support and empower young individuals and communities.
Nina provides a supportive and nonjudgmental environment for clients to explore patterns and awaken to a deeper sense of purpose within themselves. Nina primarily utilizes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) interventions of acceptance and change in order to assist clients in learning new skills to regulate their emotions. Sessions are guided by strengths-based and trauma-informed approaches to facilitate healing and greater understanding. Nina's experience is rooted in holistic health, mindfulness and alternative healing modalities.
Hayley (she/her) is a masters level clinical social worker. She brings a warm and non-judgmental spirit to her work with individuals and groups. Hayley's background in social change and her queer identity inform her practice; she is interested in supporting clients in connecting with their authentic selves in wholehearted ways and building skills that move us toward transformation.
She has facilitated groups on grief and loss, ecological anxiety, creative conflict resolution, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills. Hayley has training in DBT and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy and is committed to Health at Every Size (HAES) principles.
Christina primarily uses a client- centered, solution focused, and multicultural approach when working with clients. She also uses Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), along with mindfulness to help clients learn new skills and achieving their individual goals. She believes that each individual is the expert in their own life and with the right tools each individual can move forwards and create the life they are seeking. Christina creates a warm and comfortable environment for her clients to focus on reaching their goals with humor and positivity.
Margaret has worked as a Counselor for Albuquerque Public Schools for 18 years. Margaret has a natural inclination to see the best in others and thus has as her foundational belief that the ability to heal or resolve issues comes from within. Margaret understands her role in the therapeutic relationship to be one of “unconditional positive regard” as the foundation upon which trust is nurtured. Margaret sees herself as more of an eclectic therapist. She does not claim one particular theoretical orientation, as she believes there’s no “one size/type fits all” magic-bullet technique that works with everyone. Margaret meets her clients where they are, and will work together with them to develop treatment goals. Margaret uses humor, compassion, encouragement, and honesty when working with clients.
Jocelyn has been a therapist for over 15 years which has enhanced her ability and working knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as provided her with an eclectic therapeutic skill set. She has built a reputation of being able to interact with her clients in a fashion that is culturally appropriate and uplifting. She provides therapeutic services in the manner of individual, group and family counseling (focusing on children aged 3 to 18) using CBT, Mindfulness based therapy, Reality therapy, DBT strategies and active play-based therapy using art, LEGO play, as well as traditional and therapeutic games. Jocelyn provides a hopeful approach to coping with life struggles and building a life that feels right for clients.
Chris takes an strength-based, interpersonal and relational approach to therapy by helping his clients identify goals and help support them in their efforts toward making progress in their lives. Learning new skills and practices that promote a more authentic, satisfying sense of self and more meaningful relationships. Christopher utilizes a positive strengths based approach to enthusiastically coaching his clients to meet their goals.
Joylene enjoys campfires, genuine company, laughter, country music and snow. As a Community Support Worker I have worked in the community assisting children/individuals/families over the years with a multitude of different things to become independent by helping them develop their own skills to advocate for themselves. Helping them navigate in the community with resources that they are in need of to meet their goals. Providing them with the right tools to build their own path. Helping individuals develop their ability to create community, be independent in their environment, going back to school or obtaining employment.
Sherry is trained and experienced in utilizing methodologies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma informed interventions and comes from a strengths-based perspective to help clients utilize their own internal strengths and resources to address current challenges. Sherry primarily serves adults through individual and couples’ therapy who are addressing issues such as depression, anxiety.
Brittany Puckett is the Wild Magnolia Wellness office manager. She has a background in health education as well as previous experience in case management and early childhood intervention. She enjoys live music & spending time with her family outdoors. Brittany highly values giving back to her community and being an advocate for youth in New Mexico. She is dedicated to creating a positive work environment for her coworkers to thrive in.
Ashley McKenna is a licensed professional clinical counselor with over fifteen years of clinical experience. She has helped clients achieve sobriety, integrate prior trauma, and build increased hope for the overall wellness of their lives. She is committed to helping clients find truth and meaning in their lives while creating an environment that they love. Providing supervision and ethical guidance to clinicians entering the field of mental health has been an important part of her career. She supports therapists in maintaining a healthy and successful career and reducing burnout in the field.
Ashley is an advocate for climate justice and is working to stop the harmful effects of climate change and within her local community. She is also a published author of the book, Suicidal Thoughts and You : Escaping the Mental Loop of Wanting to End It All, Ashley is committed to providing mental health treatment in the community and expanding access to all New Mexicans who need therapy services.
